Creating white interiors is subtler than you probably think.
In these pictures you can see more details about the apartment I described in my previous blog and realise that white can come in many different shades. Choosing the ones you like is often more difficult than choosing stronger colours!
What we wanted here was to have pure interiors without them feeling cold. So we mixed different shades of white and added some touches of colours.
Walls are pure white and tiles are of a warmer white with darker arabesques decorations.
The bathroom was redesigned to create a more balanced space. Here again, all is pure with the floor tiles adding a touch of warmth.
We tried to simplify all the irregularities that were created to hide pipes and technical installations. The walls tiles are almost invisible because of their small joints.
For the choice of the fittings we also looked for something elegant, feminine and less known. The new Melange serie from Ideal Standard is classy and chic, while still affordable.
Again, in the corridor the irregularities were taken away and “hidden” with storage or new volumes. A new shower room was created as well as a small laundry hidden corner.
In the kitchen we kept an old cabinet that was repainted and added a very modern white and pure kitchen.
A few touches of colours are given by wall paper (here a sample that was finally not chosen from Cole & Son) and the floor tiles that become surprisingly bold in the shower room.
The renovation is almost finished and the apartment will be given back its original beauty and elegance taken away by many years of carelessness.
Stay tuned to see the very final pictures and if you have bought a property whose potential you cannot really see, contact us at firstname.lastname@example.org to discuss how we can help you.
