As you know in April I was in Milan for Milan Design Week, one of the largest furniture fairs worldwide.
I love to go to these kind of events as it allows me to meet my suppliers in person, keep up to date with new products by learning about them and seeing them in real life, and find inspiration for my current projects.
Last months I showed you some trends that I have spotted.
Here is the second part with a digression into fashion and homeware.
I thought that all these trends have a 1950s feeling: the lamps, the metal bookcase and even the dresses I saw in the shops in Milan city center!
One of the best ways to separate two spaces visually but not permanently is to install a see-through bookcase from floor to ceiling, or slightly lower. They were available in wood, metal, and glass to suit all tastes.
The slightly 1950s-looking lamps with brass and bulbs have been around for a while but they are still everywhere. I can picture them in so many art deco apartments in Brussels, just like they had always been there!
Black and White
There were many black and white objects and installation. I particularly like the lamps from Axolight and Vibia.
Then when I went walking in Milan city center I noticed that black and white seems to be a trend also in clothing and in accessories!
